How to Resize an Image Online for Free

Pixels or Percentage — Which Should I Use?

Use "By pixels" when a platform requires an exact size — like a 1200×630 social media banner or a 500×500 profile photo. Use "By percentage" when you just want to shrink or enlarge an image proportionally, such as reducing a photo to 50% of its original size to save space.

Will Resizing Reduce Image Quality?

Shrinking an image rarely causes visible quality loss. Enlarging it beyond its original dimensions, however, can make it look soft or blurry, since no tool can invent detail that wasn't in the original file. For best results, avoid scaling up past 100%.
